After six years of active duty in the U. S. Air Force, and six years in South Dakota where he earned a B.S. in Mass Communications/Emphasis Photography, Dan chose to settle in Colorado to be close to his parents and sisters. While in the Air Force, Dan developed his skills as a photographer, shooting anything that moved (or didn't), and the lighting techniques used by master painters. Four instructive years at Black Hills State University broadened his knowledge and skills, introducing him to photojournalism while solidifying his desire to photograph portraits and nature.
He utilizes Sony camera bodies and lenses, and an Elinchrome portable lighting system.
